Tunable third harmonic generation in graphene paves the way to high-speed communications

Researchers have shown for the first time gate tunable third harmonic generation in graphene. This could enable on-chip broadband optical switches for data transport in optical systems, leading to faster, more reliable ultra-broad bandwidth transfers.
